Clinical Trials

I have community and clinical expertise working with American Indian and Hispanic communities and youth, and research expertise in community-based participatory research and qualitative methods. My clinical practice includes coordinating camp nursing for the Na-ha- shnee Summer Institute for High School students and teaching community health in a variety of settings. My research is in developing and implementing community-based participatory research (CBPR) in Native and Hispanic communities. I am currently the Principal Investigator of an HRSA Workforce Diversity grant to increase disadvantaged, Native American, and Hispanic students from rural areas in college and nursing; co-Investigator on an NIH collaborative interdisciplinary grant with the University of Washington and the Northwest Indian College to bring CBPR into Native American education; and CBPR specialist for The Northwest Node Clinical Trials Network (NIDA).
