Dr Shishani’s background is in public health. She has done extensive work in the Middle East in the area of smoking and was successful in translating the research findings into an educational program that was integrated into nursing education. This program is now taught globally in different countries to educate nursing and other health professionals. In addition to global health, Dr. Shishani is currently investigating the addictive properties of Hookah “Waterpipe” tobacco smoking. Dr. Shishani has a well-established publication record in global health and smoking.
